About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use djsresort.com, book with us, or receive messages from us. “DJ’s Resort & Rentals,” “we,” and “us” mean the two businesses that share this website and checkout: LAKE ALVIN HEIGHTS LLC d.b.a. DJS RESORT, which provides lodging, and DJS RENTALS LLC, which provides equipment rentals and charters. Each booking is provided by the business that offers that lodging, rental, or charter.

By booking with us or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not book or use the site.

Lodging and Rentals Policies

Our Lodging Policies and Rentals Policies are part of these terms. They cover payments and deposits, check-in and check-out, fees, pets, damage and liability, cancellations, and no-shows. You will also be asked to agree to the policies that apply to your booking when you sign the liability waiver. If anything in these terms conflicts with those policies, the Lodging or Rentals Policies control for that booking.

Bookings and payment

• You must be at least 18 years old to book, sign a waiver, or operate rental equipment.
• Prices, taxes, and fees are shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe, and payment processing fees are non-refundable.
• A booking is confirmed when payment is complete and we send your confirmation.
• Please check your dates, items, and contact details before you pay. If something is wrong, contact us as soon as possible.
• Coupon and promotional codes apply only to bookings made directly on this website or with our staff, not to bookings made through Airbnb or VRBO, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Text messaging terms

Reservation texts. If you choose Text Message as your preferred contact method at checkout, you agree to receive texts from DJ’s Resort & Rentals about your reservation, including confirmations, changes, check-in/check-out details, and reminders, and replies when you text us.

Marketing texts. If you check the marketing texts box at checkout or on one of our enquiry forms, you agree to receive promotional texts from DJ’s Resort & Rentals, such as offers, discounts, and news. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

• Frequency: message frequency varies.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
• Help: reply HELP for help, or contact us at 605-975-5253 or info@djsresort.com.
• Opting out: reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts from us. We will send one message confirming you have opted out. To start again, reply START.
• Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• How we handle your mobile number and consent is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing.

Emails

We send emails about your bookings, such as confirmations, receipts, and waivers. We send marketing emails only if you leave the marketing emails consent checked at checkout or otherwise sign up. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

Third-party booking sites

If you book through Airbnb or VRBO, that platform’s terms and payment rules also apply, and some of the terms above, such as coupon codes, may not.

Using this website

• Please use the site only for lawful purposes and to make genuine bookings and enquiries.
• Do not try to disrupt the site, access accounts or areas that are not yours, or collect information about other customers.
• Photos, descriptions, and availability are provided in good faith, but we cannot promise they are free of errors. If a price or listing is clearly wrong, we may correct it and will contact you about any affected booking.
• The content on this site, including text, photos, and logos, belongs to DJ’s Resort & Rentals and may not be copied for commercial use without our permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DJ’s Resort & Rentals is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or from events outside our reasonable control, such as weather, water levels, or closures by authorities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Responsibility for injuries and damage during a stay or rental is covered by the Lodging and Rentals Policies and the liability waiver.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. The version in effect when you book applies to that booking.
